Epiroc Introduces New Simba SM60 S Drill Rig

Epiroc has introduced the Simba SM60 S, a new long-hole production drill rig designed for small to medium-sized drifts. The rig features advanced automation options, including Feed Speed Control Impact (FSCI) and automatic positioning to hole toe, aimed at improving safety, drilling quality, and productivity. The Simba SM60 S also includes an updated electrical control system and a newly developed RHS 17 single-layer carousel for faster and more efficient rod handling.

The Simba SM60 S offers a compact design with a transport height of 2.8 meters, making it suitable for operations in smaller drift mines. “Epiroc’s advanced technology enhances our customers’ operations by boosting productivity, and more importantly, by improving safety standards.
