Metso has secured a comprehensive frame agreement with Reko Diq Mining for the supply of critical process equipment to the Reko Diq copper-gold project in Balochistan, Pakistan, one of the world’s largest undeveloped deposits of its kind. The total value of the agreement is EUR 200 million, with initial orders for crushing and grinding equipment amounting to approximately EUR 100 million. These orders, which include Superior TM 6089 MKIII Gyratory Crushers, Nordberg MP1250 Cone Crushers, and PremierTM ball mills, will be reflected in the Minerals segment’s third-quarter order intake for 2024.
The equipment provided by Metso will include advanced technologies such as gearless mill drive systems and Polymer Hydrostatic Shoe Bearing systems, aimed at enhancing reliability and reducing maintenance costs. Additionally, Metso’s metallic mill linings will be incorporated into the ball mills. Future orders under this agreement are expected to include TankCell® flotation cells, Concorde CellTM units, and various other processing and automation equipment, to be finalized and booked later in 2024 and 2025.
