Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has launched the Sandvik DD212i, an advanced narrow vein underground drill designed for increased productivity and efficiency. This single-boom jumbo, part of Sandvik’s i-series, features an updated design with enhanced intelligence, precise electronic positioning and improved hole measurements. Its compact size and versatility make it suitable for narrow vein and medium-sized drift operations, where it helps optimize performance and profitability.
Key features of the Sandvik DD212i include the SB20i instrumented boom, Sandvik RDX5 rock drills and scalable automation packages designed to improve penetration rates and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). A safer ROPS/FOPS cabin and user-friendly control systems ensure ease of operation, while a new module of the Digital Driller™ training simulator is available for operator training and upskilling in advance.
“Sandvik DD212i was developed for mines looking for compact equipment with better connectivity and data collection capabilities,” said Jean-Christophe Goiffon, Low Profile and Narrow Vein Product Manager for Underground Drilling at Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.
