Lekatech and Normet have completed a successful test of the Lekatech Leka Toras 35 fully electric hammer at Finland's Pyhäsalmi mine. Integrated with Normet’s Scamec LC Thor 095 A scaler, the electric hammer was evaluated under the mine's demanding underground conditions, marking a significant development in sustainable rock-breaking technology.
The Scamec LC Thor 095 A is an underground scaling machine designed to ensure safety and efficiency in mining operations. The Lekatech fully electric hammer, unlike traditional pneumatic or hydraulic alternatives, operates without hydraulic fluids, offering reduced energy consumption and minimal environmental impact. The test aimed to assess the hammer’s impact energy, durability, and ease of integration with the Scamec LC Thor 095 A in real-world conditions.
“The successful test at Pyhäsalmi mine confirms that our fully electric hammer is ready to offer a more efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional hammers,” said Antti Anttila, CEO of Lekatech.
