Normet, a leading provider of solutions for the mining and tunnelling industries, has acquired full ownership of Lekatech, a Finnish company known for its electric hammering technologies. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Iitti, Finland, Lekatech has developed innovative linear electric hammering solutions for use in mining, quarrying, and construction. This acquisition aligns with Normet’s strategy to expand its range of electric products and solutions, enhancing its capacity to deliver sustainable and efficient technologies to its customers.
By integrating Lekatech's technology with its existing SmartDrive® battery-electric systems and XRock® boom and breaker solutions, Normet aims to advance its capabilities in underground scaling and breaking applications. Lekatech will continue to operate independently as part of the Normet Group, maintaining its innovative approach while leveraging Normet’s global reach and resources to accelerate the adoption of electric hammering technologies.
“Normet enables us to expand and speed up the adoption of the electric hammering technology across industries on a global scale. Having collaborated with Normet for several years we have realised that there is a strong cultural fit and that we share the same values”, said Antti Anttila, CEO, Lekatech.
