Immersive Technologies has announced it will launch the IM360+, an underground mining simulator, at MINExpo 2024. The IM360+ is designed to address the specific challenges of underground mining equipment training, offering technologies such as stereoscopic 3D, photo-realistic graphics, and RealView™ head tracking. The platform builds on previous models, with a focus on delivering enhanced realism and training value for underground miners.
The IM360+ is built for continuous operation in demanding mining environments and includes features for safety and comfort, such as air conditioning and a low-profile motion platform. The simulator is suited to improving training efficiency and skills transfer while maintaining reliability through professional-grade components, explains the company.
“Our close collaboration with mining companies paired with our extensive mining technology experience is a catalyst for innovation to solve real mining challenges. At MINExpo 2021, we launched the PRO5 for surface mining, and the uptake has been massive due to the training value of stereoscopic 3D and true-to-life graphics. We knew that underground miners needed a similar capability, so we launched the IM360+ at MINExpo 2024,” said David Anderson, CEO of Immersive Technologies.
