BASF to Sell Mining Flocculants Business to Solenis

BASF has announced the sale of its flocculants business for mining applications to Solenis, a global leader in specialty chemicals. This divestiture aligns with BASF's strategic focus on refining its portfolio to concentrate on core areas of its chemical business. The acquisition by Solenis is set to bolster its position in the mining sector, enhancing its capabilities and service offerings in this critical industry.

“BASF continuously evaluates its product portfolio to sharpen our strategic focus. The search for strategic partners plays an important role in this. For our flocculants’ portfolio for mining applications, we have found such a partner in Solenis, and we are confident that the divestiture will further promote and develop the product range in the future to meet customer needs,” said Anup Kothari, member of the Board of Executive Directors, BASF SE.
